The Unloc Enterprise Academy team had a great day facilitating a high-impact Enterprise day at Alton College earlier this week. The team arrived on site in the morning on Monday 27th March.
The day consisted of three masterclasses to educate students on the fundamental basics of starting a business. These sessions were chosen by Alton College and created in-house by our Enterprise Academy team. The masterclasses on the Alton College day were, branding and marketing, pitching your business and how to network like a pro. In the afternoon, Alton College students then worked with Unloc Enterprise Academy mentors to plan out their very own business idea.
Throughout our days, the tried and tested business model canvas approach is used, to ensure students are thinking about all aspects of running a business.
After some time working on their businesses and practicing their pitches, the students had the chance to create their own company brand and logo. Once they had decided on the essentials of a brand, students then worked with our marketing manager to turn this into a reality.
Throughout the day there were some incredible ideas, ranging from bespoke clothing lines to graphic design studios for small businesses. The teams who were passionate about their idea and wanted to take it further had the opportunity to work with Unloc Enterprise Academy staff to make it happen.
Head of the Unloc Enterprise Academy, Ryan Waters, had this to say about the day: “It was great to be working with Alton College. The students are always really enthusiastic and driven. The enterprise days we deliver give students the freedom to be as creative and flexible as possible, we see this in the results we get at the end of the day.”
